Club Night Rules
Please follow the rules to make our club nights run successfully and in accordance with the rules of Peninsula Leisure Centre:
- ADULT SUPERVISION OF CHILDREN IS REQUIRED AT ALL TIMES.
- Entries must be submitted by 6pm on the Thursday night before swim club. Entries can be submitted through email via our website www.woywoy.nswswimming.com.au or emailed directly to wwscrec@gmail.com. LATE ENTRIES CANNOT BE ACCEPTED.
- Marshalling of swimmers will commence at 6.45pm. Please arrive at the pool by 6.45pm at the latest.
- Competitors are not to use the other pools or the other section of the 50m pool after 6.40pm.
- Listen out for the events being marshalled.
- Competitors are to remain seated in the grandstand then report to the Marshall once their event has been called.
- 17m swimmers are to return to marshalling straight after their swim ready for their next event.
- If swimmers are not in Marshalling they may miss their race & will lose points from their point score. Events are swum in distance order except for 17m events which are all swum at the start of the meet.
- Please do not enter the Recorders Room. Club night results are posted on the website www.woywoy.nswswimming.com.au.
- If a swimmer is not going to be swimming an event you have submitted an entry for, please advise the Marshall as soon as possible.
- Please remember to take all your belongings & any rubbish with you when you leave.
Club Night Point Score
To qualify for Club Championships, swimmers must have competed at 13 Club Nights, swimming at least two different strokes at each of those nights.
It is the swimmer or parents responsibility to check the Club Championship Eligibility Report and once qualified to submit their entries on a Multi-Entry Card to the Race Secretary no later than 20/03.
Those that have not qualified for Club Championships are welcome to swim as Exhibition Swimmers in their age events, but will not be eligible for places or trophies. Exhibition Swimmers are required to submit their entries the same way as qualified swimmers. The Club Championships Program will be posted on the Club Room window and on the Club Website.
Points are awarded as follows for each Club night swim & count towards Point Score trophies awarded at the Summer & Winter presentations.
0 points for starting but failing to finish.
0 points for being disqualified
2 points for times greater than 2 seconds slower than best time.
3 points for times 1-2 seconds slower than best time.
4 points for times less than 1 second slower than best time.
5 points for times equal to and within 1 second faster than best time.
6 points for times 1-2 seconds faster than best time.
7 points for times greater than 2 seconds faster than best time.
-7 points for failing to answer the Marshal after the event is called.

What are shield events ?
Shield Events
The Shield Events are held at the end of each season.
To qualify for the Shield Events, a swimmer must qualify for the Age Club Championships. Competitors that don’t qualify can swim as Exhibition swimmers, but they are not eligible to receive any points or trophies.
Entries are submitted at least one week before the competition, and cost $1.00 per event. Entries are done using the Entry forms available from the Recorders.
Swimmers compete in two age groups, 12 and under, and 13 and Over, with separate events for boys and girls.
Summer Shield Events are swum in the 50m pool. Winter Shield Events are swum in the 25m pool.
The events to be competed in are:

12 and Under - 100m Freestyle, 100m Breaststroke, 100m Butterfly, 100m Backstroke and 200m Individual Medley

13 and Over - 100m Freestyle, 100m Breaststroke, 100m Butterfly, 100m Backstroke and 200m Individual Medley
The results from these events are used as part of the Open Club Championships, (refer Handbook), even if the swimmer has not qualified.
There will trophies awarded for the each Male and Female Age Champion at the end of each season. Swimmers must compete in all four strokes to receive a Shield trophy.
