1. What more is there ?
There are five types of carnivals:
- Development Carnivals
- Qualifying Carnivals
- Open Carnivals
- Open Water Carnivals
- Representative Carnivals

2. Can I use short course times for long course events and visa versa ?
Can I use short course times for long course events and vice versa?
Generally for most competitions this is permissible; however, if it is not stated on the meet flyer then you should confirm this with the race secretary. Contact: wwscrec@gmail.com
It is important to note that conversion constants may apply when converting short course times to long course times. Please refer to the "Course Conversion Constants" link on the "Swimming Links" page (found on top menus under the "Links" menu).
3. What are Break Times and Qualifying Times ?
- Break Times (to enter an event a swimmer's best time must be slower than the time advertised on the flyer .i.e. swimmers time is greater than or the same as the break time stated on the flyer for the race)
- Qualifying Times (to enter an event a swimmer's best time must equal to or faster than the time advertised on the flyer .i.e. swimmers time is less than or the same qualifying time stated on the flyer for the race)
